Overview

Fresh leukopaks provide a concentrated source of mononuclear leukocytes, principally lymphocytes and monocytes, collected by leukapheresis from pre-screened healthy donors. They are transported under temperature-controlled conditions and shipped within 24 hours of collection to support cellular viability and functional performance.

Why choose our fresh leukopaks?

  • High cell concentration: at least 40 × 109 leukocytes/L
  • High cell purity: low haemoglobin and haematocrit
  • Screened donors: medically examined donors with prior plasma donation experience, and every donation tested against a full viral-marker panel
  • Reliable supply: donor networks in the United States and Europe, recall donors on request and a backup donor booked for every collection
  • GMP available: research-use-only grade as standard, with GMP grade available on request

Split leukopaks

Split leukopaks are produced by aseptically dividing a fresh leukopak into two equal units using sterile welding and validated bags. Each unit has the same leukocyte populations and concentration, so multiple teams, sites or experimental conditions can work from the same donor material. Units can be dispatched to customer-specified locations. Custom fill sizes and additional splits may be available on request.

Applications

  • Cell therapy research and process development, including CAR-T, stem cell and immunotherapy workflows
  • Assay development, validation and proficiency testing
  • Multi-site, comparative and longitudinal studies using same-donor material

FAQs

When should I choose fresh rather than cryopreserved?

Fresh material is best where immediate access to high-viability cells and rapid processing are priorities. Split material is useful where you need same-donor material across multiple sites or conditions.

Can I specify donor requirements?

Yes. HLA-matched, recallable and specified donors (for example by age, BMI or ethnicity) can be sourced on request. These may carry an extra charge and depend on donor availability.

Can I select donors by HLA type?

Send us your HLA requirements and we will search the donor database for a match before collection. HLA matching is specific to each customer, so there is no standard loci panel or typing resolution.

What virology testing is carried out?

Every donation is tested for HIV, HBV and HCV by NAT and serology, plus HTLV I/II, HAV, HEV, parvovirus B19, West Nile virus, syphilis and Chagas.

How are the collection centres audited?

Collection centres are EMA- and FDA-audited. Every stage is governed by GMP protocols and validated SOPs.
