Which host species are available for antibody production?
We offer antibody production using a range of host animals, including rabbits, sheep, goats, chickens, mice, rats, alpacas, llamas and emus. Our team can advise on the most suitable host based on your target, antibody requirements, expected yield and intended application.
How long does a polyclonal antibody project take?
A typical polyclonal antibody project takes three to four months. This includes a 77-day immunisation schedule, starting with an initial immunisation followed by four booster injections. Protocols can be tailored to individual project requirements, the host’s immune response and the quantity of antibody required.
How long does a monoclonal antibody project take?
Monoclonal antibody projects typically take 3–9 months, depending on the immunisation schedule and overall project complexity. We routinely use four BALB/c mice for immunisation, with an initial injection followed by four booster injections. Other mouse strains are available to suit specific project requirements.
What purification methods do you offer?
IgG is typically purified by Protein A or Protein G affinity, and antigen affinity purification is the gold standard for polyclonal antisera. We also offer ammonium sulphate precipitation, dialysis and ultrafiltration, and size exclusion chromatography.
What information comes with my antibody?
Each antibody is supplied with a Certificate of Analysis reporting its concentration, label, buffer, preservative and volume.
